O Mother O Woman; Lady Courage.

Ogandaga Honorine (Ep. Ogoula Iquaqua) (1921-1996).

Behind a great man sometimes lies a great lady

Ogandaga Honorine was born on July 4, 1921 in Oloumi (Ogooué) from : Owanga Nkaviyo Marie and Ogoula Emboro Joseph. She is therefore the younger sister of Ogoul'Eviva (Eviva z'Anomé) Louis Marie. She met her future husband in the 50s. Honorine arrived with five (5) children from a previous marriage, all adopted by Ogoula Iquaqua Benoît. For a long time, I thought, along with others, that my father was the progenitor, because he never differentiated between his wife's children and his own. I was the link between them. Which made for a beautiful 13-member blended sibling family.

Our "living together" was sealed by the values and principles put at our disposal by our father: reciprocal affection, mutual respect, unity, solidarity and "bien-faire"... Honorine had grasped, identified and integrated the dimension of man: his greatness of soul, generosity, spirituality, his love for his fellow man, his desire for constant evolution.

She also knew that my father was her "King", a great man whose duty it was to accompany and protect her. This she did to the end of her life. She always behaved with great dignity. She was loving, courageous, generous, resourceful, full of initiative, family-oriented and strong-willed. She didn't have the opportunity to go to the "white man's" school, but she had a lively intelligence and a good sense of humour.
practice. During her husband's illness (1978-1980), she showed a devotion that earned the admiration of all.
